About Us
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), and The Royal Women’s Hospital (The Women’s) have united to deliver world-leading cancer care through the Strategic Cancer Service Plan (SCSP), which aims to provide exceptional cancer treatment, discovery, and leadership to the people of Victoria and beyond.
This collaborative effort seeks to elevate the standard of cancer care across the state, improving access to specialized services. In alignment with the Victorian Health Services Plan, Peter Mac will serve as the lead health service for adult clinical cancer services, driving the 10-year SCSP (2025–2035) vision forward. We’re seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to manage and implement this vision for the initial 3-year phase.
About the Role
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Strategic Cancer Service Plan. Your expertise in project management, team collaboration, and strategic execution will directly impact the future of cancer care in Victoria.
You’ll work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of this major initiative, overseeing everything from project planning and governance to communication and change management.
Key Requirements
Essential
- Proven senior operational experience in managing complex health services and projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of hospital systems, clinical processes, and financial performance indicators.
- Relevant health degree and postgraduate qualifications in management or project management.
Desirable
- Track record of delivering projects successfully, on time and within budget.
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in computer systems and project management tools.
You will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including:
- Internal: CEOs, Executive Teams, Medical Directors, Nurse Unit Managers, and Senior Leaders in the research directorate.
- External: Department of Health, Safer Care Victoria, Parkville Precinct Partners, LHSN partners.

Remuneration between $136.650.80 per annum to $170,000.00 per annum (full-time equivalent) dependent on candidate experience. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.
