You will be working as part of the Guy Carpenter Analytics team on delivering analytics services to clients, providing support to the reinsurance teams, and developing insights into models and perils in the Pacific region.

Catastrophe Modeller – Pacific Region


We will count on you to:

  • Work as part of the Guy Carpenter Analytics team on delivering analytical services to clients across the Pacific region and provide support to reinsurance teams.
  • Manage the analytical work for a range of clients and internal projects.
  • Utilise commercial and in-house models to generate outputs, with appropriate interpretation of results.
  • Work with actuarial teams to provide outputs and analytical analysis for clients and prospects.
  • Undertake model evaluation studies for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Utilise climate model outputs and integrate these with catastrophe risk models to inform model adjustments and projections.
  • Real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and providing support to clients post event.
  • Establish and develop client relationships, resolve questions and challenges that may arise.
  • Perform general administrative duties including adherence to compliance systems.


What you need to have:

  • Tertiary qualification with Honours/Masters in Geosciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar numerate subjects.
  • Experience with catastrophe modelling software including RiskLink and/or Touchstone, with 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
  • Experience with database and data processing software including SQL server and Alteryx would be beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to organise and synthesise large datasets.
