CCLHD - CAMHS Mental Health Worker

Central Coast Local Health District are seeking passionate and experienced Mental Health Care Workers (Level 3) to join their Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team. They have both permanent full time and permanent part time (16 hours per week) positions available. In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in providing assertive outreach, intensive case management, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people and their families, particularly those experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. As part of the CAMHS team, you will be working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to ensure holistic care that is trauma-informed, recovery-focused, and family-inclusive.

As a Mental Health Care Worker Level 3 in CAMHS, your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed clinical services to young people and their families. You will provide individual therapy, using evidence-based interventions that are tailored to the specific mental health needs of young people, with a strong emphasis on recovery. Your role will involve a combination of assertive case management, crisis intervention, and clinical assessment, ensuring that young people have timely access to the care they need.

You will be working closely with families and carers, ensuring they are included in assessments, care plans, and reviews wherever appropriate. Liaising with a range of agencies—such as Central Coast Mental Health Services, local mental health inpatient units, and community-managed organizations—will be a key part of the role to ensure continuity of care and effective collaboration. You will also play an active role in case conferences and team meetings, providing expertise and support to other professionals involved in the care of young people.

Your work will also involve maintaining comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation in line with confidentiality requirements and legal standards, ensuring that all interactions with clients and families are well-documented. Throughout your work, you will adhere to the principles of the Privacy Act and ensure that appropriate consent is obtained for information exchange.

About You

• You have professional registration required to practice, in your area of specialty including but not limited to APHRA.
• You have relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
• You have a Current Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to work from various locations around the district.
• You have a knowledge of working within a crisis intervention model of care.

You will be based within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), which is part of the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), and may be required to travel to various sites within the district. This part-time position provides flexibility while working in a supportive and dynamic clinical environment.
