Job Description
Your Opportunity
We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud, Data & Infrastructure team.
In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.
You’ll also make an impact by:
- Liaising with vendors and key stakeholders to solve complex problems and ensure Cloud solutions are designed, costed, and documented ensure a successful implementation and adoption
- Operating, and fine-tuning DevOps blueprints, pipelines, tooling, and processes
- Collaborating with Architecture and Application engineering teams to drive Cost Optimisation initiatives and forecasted expenditure
- Identifying opportunities to improve vendor delivery so that it is optimised, performant and compliant with Cuscal’s standards
- Actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
- Contributing to prioritisation of a backlog of continuous improvement items
- Implement initiatives that pay down the ‘tech debt’ register
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Significant experience working as a Cloud Engineer with coding experience or a Developer who has moved into Infrastructure
- Thorough understanding of Azure & AWS designing and implementing solutions based on these cloud technologies
- Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using Infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
- Demonstrated experience implementing/supporting automated DevOps processes and toolchain to support automated DevOps Pipelines in a multi cloud hybrid environment
- Strong skills and experience working with
- JSON, YAML, Python
- Proficient with Bash & Powershell is desirable.
- IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation
- AWS CLI and / or SDK
- DevOps Toolchain (i.e., GitHub, Docker, Configuration, CI/CD,
- Terraform Cloud, platform testing, deployment automation, etc)
- Docker and/or other containerisation technologies (Kubernetes or EKS is highly regarded)
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
- Experience with microservices and RESTful architectures
- Understanding of Azure and associated Microsoft cloud technologies and willing to develop Azure skills
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Methodology and Practices
