About the Role
BMD is experiencing a significant growth phase, with a robust pipeline of major projects across Adelaide and the South Australia region. We are seeking a Project Engineer with proven experience in the Australian civil market, particularly in major road infrastructure projects to join our team.
This role will be an onsite role as part of the team delivering the Verdun Interchange project in the Adelaide Hills area.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, you will leverage your engineering expertise to:
- Lead and mentor Site Engineers and Graduates, fostering a collaborative and solutions-focused team culture.
- Oversee the structures scope of the project which may include bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other civil structures, ensuring compliance with design specifications and Australian Standards.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality workmanship.
- Provide technical support and engineering services to ensure safety, environmental, and contractual requirements are met.
- Monitor progress, budgets, and schedules, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, consultants, and government authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil infrastructure delivery, with a strong preference for candidates with major road project experience in Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in structures delivery on transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of DIT (SA Department for Infrastructure and Transport) specifications and relevant Australian Standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and quality outcomes.
- Proficiency in project management tools and construction methodologies.
