About The Role:
The Commercial Manager will support the L156 Project Manager by leading and managing the project commercial and contracting processes. This includes, assistance with the tender development process, assisting with the evaluation and contract development processes in accordance with Defence policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the contractual, procurement and financial activities and relationships
- Support the development of tender and conduct response evaluation in accordance with AUSDEFCON suite requirements
- Assists with the commercial and procurement functions in the sustainment areas.
- Assists with planning, organising and developing all procurement documentation required for projects, and obtains relevant internal approvals.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Undertake Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) activities and reporting requirements in accordance with CASG codes of practice and standards.
- Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination and administration, and documentation management including records management using Objective.
- Support knowledge transfer and mentoring of APS/ADF staff
About You:
- Have a minimum of five years experience in a similar role.
- Possess a relevant recognised tertiary qualification in Business, Legal, Finance or similar, or demonstrate relevant professional experience.
- Experience in Defence and Commonwealth Government finance and contracting policy and practices.
- Experience in Defence procurement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in financial planning, pricing, planning, billing procedures and contract administration including cost estimation and tender release and evaluation essential.
- Experience with implementation of and compliance with export controls and the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain spreadsheet models.
- Experienced user of MS Office products.
- Currently holding a Defence NV1 security clearance is essential for this role.
