The Controls and Automation Specialist provides front line support related to the continuous operation of site material handling equipment (MHE). Work may
range between electrical wiring faults, communications issues, database and reporting needs through to detailed analysis of different types of programmable
logic controller software. The position will also be required to support continuous improvement initiatives and carry out planned and reactive
maintenance activities on MHE. Some examples of MHE include; bots, tote and product handling equipment, associated conveyor networks.   The role is shift based and will report to the respective Engineering Team Manager. The role has a dotted line to the Lead Automation Engineer who shall
provide technical direction and support when required. The role is a shift position that will require working days, nights and weekends.
Flexibility in working hours is also necessary to support Ocado’s 24/7 operation.   Key Customers

●Demonstrated technical ability in relation to Automation and controls hardware, software and communications.
●Formal tertiary qualifications in a related field will be highly regarded
●Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability
●Good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to impart knowledge effectively to others
●Good organisation skills, able to prioritise
●A self starter who is comfortable with setting goals and reporting to all levels of management
●This is a hands-on role and involves working at heights, using a variety of access equipment, so employees need to be comfortable working at
heights.
