About the role
The Counselling Intake, Assessment & Referral Worker supports the Counselling team through its provision of streamlined intake, information and referrals for individuals. This position calls for an ability to engage individuals who may present in emotional or mental health distress, working to screen, assess and link clients into appropriate services both internally and externally to Your Community Health.
Reporting to the Counselling Coordinator, this is an ongoing part-time role (0.6 FTE). Offices located in the Northern Suburbs.
Your Passion and Commitment will see you:
- Perform intake and assessment duties for potential clients including walk-ins.
- Manage priority within the counselling waitlist, providing single-session counselling when needed.
- Strengthen referral pathways to support community members in accessing appropriate services.
- Co-facilitate and support in the planning of group work programs.
- Degree and/or post graduate qualification in Counselling, Family Therapy, Psychology and/or Social Work, or other appropriately related disciplines.
- Eligibility for membership of relevant professional association i.e. AHPRA, AASW.
- Experience providing intake, assessment, information and referral, preferably in health, welfare and/or community settings.
- Risk assessment experience including family violence, suicidal ideation & self-harm.
- Knowledge about community services within Darebin and surrounding area.
