About the Opportunities
As part of the City Culture Program, the Library Customer Service Representative drives excellent library service to all customers by being warm, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
In this exciting and diverse role, you will play a key part in enriching customer experience by providing positive, meaningful and relevant options, choices, suggestions and referrals.
This is an amazing opportunity to play a part in being a positive and active member of the Library team and providing excellent Customer Service in the libraries!
Some of the day-to-day things you may see yourself doing include:
- Delivering a program such as Family Storytime, LEGO Club and Crafternoon.
- Taking our Library Trike Out and About in the City and talking to people about our library and community centre services.
- Contributing to our library collection by selecting new items and helping customers to find their next read.
- Assisting customers with e-books, accessing public computers and navigating government online services.
- Introducing people to new technologies such as 3D printing, Virtual Reality.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in delivering a high level of customer satisfaction in a customer service environment is essential.
- Sound knowledge of the role of the Public Library within the community.
- Experience supporting customers with using computers, email and the internet.
- Experience in the delivery of Library and/or Community services or programs.
- Previous experience in, or ability to quickly learn, automated library systems and library services and knowledge or understanding of the Public Library Service Network in SA.
