About the Opportunity:
Two opportunities have become available to join the Library & Family Services team as a Customer Service Assistant. These roles are part-time - approx. 43 hours per fortnight. Hours of work at 4.25 hours per day, one role the hours are usually 12.50pm-5.05pm; the second role the hours are usually a mix of 9.50am-2.05pm & 11.50am-4.05pm shifts Monday to Friday, plus weekend shifts.
City of Darwin have four (4) libraries: Darwin City (Civic Centre), Nightcliff, Karama & Casuarina. Our libraries opening hours are Monday to Saturday, with Casuarina Library open on a Sunday. The successful applicants must be flexible and adaptable to working in various work locations throughout the municipality as needed to perform the role effectively, including at multiple library locations and work weekends.
What do we ask you to do?

Ensure library users are provided with a positive, proactive and responsive customer service experience by:
- Engaging, supporting, and connecting library users with services, activities and resources including e-resources.
- Assisting with general enquires and the use of various IT resources and self-service technologies.
- Explain procedures and regulations to library users.
- Assist with the planning and delivery or library programs such as Story Time and similar.
- Maintain the order of library collections with various tasks such as shelving, sorting and shelf-reading.
What do we need you to have?
- A current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
- Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
- 1 Year Customer Service Experience
