The University of Wollongong (UOW) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy University Secretary to play a pivotal role in supporting the University’s governance frameworks and key decision-making bodies. Working within the Governance and Policy Division, this position will work with a team of professionals providing executive administration, high level governance reporting and advice to the University Executive and University community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer and University Secretary, the Deputy University Secretary will lead and facilitate the effective administration of the University Council, Academic Senate, and other senior governance bodies. This role is critical in providing high-level governance advice, ensuring legislative compliance, and driving governance best practices across the University.

Support the Chief Governance Officer & University Secretary (CGO&US) in providing strategic, high-quality advice to the Senior Executive and the broader University community on organisational governance matters. In this role, you will research, monitor, and advise on governance issues affecting the University, as well as broader developments at the state, federal, and international levels. Additionally, you will provide governance advice, training, and support to staff, student representatives, and the wider University community, contributing to the development of strong governance capability across the organisation.
