Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dewatering Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of dewatering systems, including pumps, hoses, and water control equipment, across a range of project sites. This hands-on role requires a practical, safety-focused individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to supporting efficient and compliant site operations. The ideal candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of dewatering processes to help ensure project timelines are met and work environments remain productive and controlled.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Deployment
- Install, set up, and ensure correct alignment of dewatering systems, including pumps, hoses, and related components for efficient water
- Assist with mobilisation and demobilisation of dewatering equipment at project sites
Monitoring and Control
- Operate and monitor dewatering equipment, adjusting settings as needed to maintain optimal water levels and meet project specifications
- Continuously track water levels and pump performance to ensure efficient operations
Maintenance and Inspection
- Conduct regular inspections and perform routine maintenance of dewatering equipment to identify and address potential issues.
- Clean, lubricate, and replace worn or damaged parts to maintain reliability and prevent equipment failure.
Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues with dewatering systems using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to promptly resolve technical problems and minimise downtime.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect data on water levels, pump performance, and system efficiency, while maintaining accurate records of maintenance and operations.
- Generate reports and documentation on equipment status and operational activities for management review.
Safety Compliance
- Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) during equipment deployment and maintenance.
- Participate in safety meetings and training and promptly report any hazards or incidents to the Site Supervisor.
Customer Interaction
- Communicate with clients and site personnel to understand dewatering requirements and provide regular updates on equipment and operations.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and smooth project progress.
Inventory Management
- Manage inventory of dewatering equipment and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance for efficient resource management.
Qualifications:
Education/Certificates
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in dewatering operations or a related field.
- Current driver’s licence
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in dewatering operations or related industries is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of pumps, hoses, and water control systems, with the ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills for effective collaboration and issue resolution
- Commitment to safety and compliance, utilising systems thinking to identify issues and plan solutions
- Skilled in operational planning, resource management, change management, and budget oversight to achieve business goals efficiently
- Experience in implementing new processes, monitoring operations, and making real-time adjustments for peak efficiency
- Adaptable and innovative, with a proven track record in developing solutions and driving continuous improvements
- Willing to work in Gold Coast or Brisbane.
