The Director Staff Safety & Recovery is accountable for providing expert workforce health, safety and injury management advice, and effective Districtwide leadership of general staff safety and recovery strategies, policies programs, and practices, including safety systems, safety culture, risk and incident management, rehabilitation, workers compensation claims management, staff wellbeing, safety information management and reporting.

The role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with a strong focus on leading the District's staff safety response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including proactive identification of potential risks and issues, and the timely planning, development, dissemination and oversight of implementation of effective mitigation strategies to facilitate workforce safety and wellbeing.

ISLHD operate four hospital sites on Dharawal Country in the Illawarra: Coledale Hospital, Bulli Hospital, Wollongong Hospital and Shellharbour Hospital.
