Position: Mental Health/Disability Support Worker
About the Role:
As a Mental Health/Disability Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals to live independently, build life skills, and enhance overall well-being. You will utilize person-centered, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented approaches to support the recovery and wellbeing of those accessing services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities and/or lived experience of mental health issue(s).
- Work with participants, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the participant's individual goals.
- Provide emotional support while promoting mental health and disability wellness.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of participants, adhering to best practice and organisational policies.
Role Criteria:
- Certificate III or higher in Mental Health, Disability, or a related field is desired but not essential.
- Experience in providing support to people with mental health or disability needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with participants, families, and other professionals.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to varying support needs.
- National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
