We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a District Unique Patient Identification (UPI) Analyst. This critical role is responsible for monitoring and analysing the data integrity of core patient management and information systems, with a focus on ensuring the unique registration of patients and clients across the district. The successful candidate will manage potential patient duplicates, maintain the quality of patient registrations, and ensure consistency of patient identifiers and demographic data across multiple systems.

This position plays a key role in supporting the accuracy and reliability of electronic health records within NBMLHD, contributing to the State Enterprise Registry (EPR), the State Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR), the NSW HealtheNet Portal, and the National My Health Record. In addition to technical responsibilities, the role involves educating staff on patient registration protocols and merging processes to uphold best practices in data management.

This role is offered as an initial 12 month contract from the date of commencement, with possible extension.

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated experience in using patient information management systems within a health environment and an understanding of the use of patient information including the legislative requirements in relation to privacy of personal health information
  • Demonstrated understanding of unique patient identification concepts and patient registration processes as well as an understanding of patient registration policies, standards, and guidelines
  • High level analytical skills with attention to detail, persistence, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise initiative and judgement
  • Highly developed skills in prioritisation, organisation and time management and the ability to self-manage many concurrent activities of a diverse nature
  • Experience in the use of windows-based applications, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate creative problem solving and investigative skills
