Position Overview
The Duty Manager plays a key role in overseeing daily operations during allocated shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth workflow, and compliance with CU29’s standards. This role requires a confident leader who can make quick decisions, manage staff effectively, and maintain a premium guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
  • Supervise all front-of-house operations during shifts, ensuring smooth service and adherence to CU29’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service teams to maintain efficient communication and workflow.
  • Ensure the venue is set up and ready for service, including cleanliness, table settings, and stock checks.
Team Supervision
  • Lead and motivate staff on shift, providing direction and support as required.
  • Allocate tasks, manage break schedules, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Address and resolve any staff performance issues that arise during the shift.
Customer Service Excellence
  • Be a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints, escalating to management where necessary.
  • Promote a welcoming, professional, and memorable dining experience for all patrons.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) regulations and Western Australia’s licensing laws.
  • Monitor workplace health and safety during shifts, reporting and addressing hazards.
  • Ensure all incidents are documented and reported according to policy.
Cash & Administration
  • Oversee daily cash handling, reconciliations, and shift reporting.
  • Ensure POS transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain security of cash and sensitive information.

Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory or duty management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
  • Solid knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service best practices.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
