Position Overview
The Duty Manager plays a key role in overseeing daily operations during allocated shifts, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth workflow, and compliance with CU29’s standards. This role requires a confident leader who can make quick decisions, manage staff effectively, and maintain a premium guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Supervise all front-of-house operations during shifts, ensuring smooth service and adherence to CU29’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service teams to maintain efficient communication and workflow.
- Ensure the venue is set up and ready for service, including cleanliness, table settings, and stock checks.
Team Supervision
- Lead and motivate staff on shift, providing direction and support as required.
- Allocate tasks, manage break schedules, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Address and resolve any staff performance issues that arise during the shift.
Customer Service Excellence
- Be a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
- Manage and resolve customer complaints, escalating to management where necessary.
- Promote a welcoming, professional, and memorable dining experience for all patrons.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) regulations and Western Australia’s licensing laws.
- Monitor workplace health and safety during shifts, reporting and addressing hazards.
- Ensure all incidents are documented and reported according to policy.
Cash & Administration
- Oversee daily cash handling, reconciliations, and shift reporting.
- Ensure POS transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain security of cash and sensitive information.

Qualifications & Experience
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory or duty management role within the hospitality industry.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
- Solid knowledge of restaurant operations and customer service best practices.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
