Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Early Childhood Educator – Certificate III
Salary: $68,972.28 per annum pro rata

Part Time (16 hrs p/w) – Temporary (To 20 December 2025)
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Children’s Services have a Certificate III qualified Early Childhood Educator – temporary part time position available at our Mooroopna Children & Families Centre. This position will be based in the Long Day Care Centre supporting children from 6 weeks - 5 years of age. The position is currently 8hrs on a Wednesday and 8hrs on a Friday.
The role will not only be supported by Greater Shepparton City Council’s Early Years Department but will be further supported by ‘Our Place’ on site which is an initiative of the Colman Education Foundation. The role will be part of the Long Day Care and Kindergarten education team fostering an holistic, play based curriculum whereby the children’s interests, culture and abilities are the foundation for developing each child’s confidence to succeed.
Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) or evidence of active working towards status
- Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
- Current CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
- Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period. During the qualifying period employees will be provided with appropriate on-going induction, support, assistance, resources and training to enable them to meet the required performance standards for the position.
