About the role
This is not your typical environmental or geology job. We’re offering something different, an opportunity to bring both disciplines together in a role that’s hands-on, purpose-driven and full of variety. As our Environmental Geologist , you’ll work across some of the most interesting ground in NSW, guiding exploration teams through responsible practices, legacy site clean-up, permit management and environmental compliance.
Based in the Cobar Basin and covering the Cobar and Nymagee districts, you’ll spend your time outdoors, collaborating with field techs and geos, leading rehab activities, and making sure everything we do respects the land, heritage and legislation. You’ll be backed by experienced environmental and exploration leaders—but this is your role to own.
Roster: 8/6, 12 hours (Dayshift only)
Location: Cobar Basin, NSW
Travel Options: Residential, DIDO, FIFO

Key responsibilities
- Lead field-based environmental compliance and rehab
- Manage exploration permits and reporting
- Plan and deliver legacy site clean-up
- Support low-impact drill planning and heritage assessments Keep records, data and ESG reporting up to date
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field
- Dual qualifications in Environmental Science and Geology highly desirable
- Proven experience in environmental roles within exploration or mining
- Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with environmental requirements for exploration leases
- Demonstrated alignment with Aurelia Metals’ values
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills Current manual driver’s licence essential
