Join our Equities and Multi-Asset division within Macquarie Asset Management as an Equity Trader, where you will support Macquarie’s Systematic Investment team, to ensure efficient implementation of model trades and strategies, minimize errors, and continuously optimize execution performance.
It is proposed that Macquarie Asset Management will sell its North American and European public investments business, comprising of equities, fixed income and multi-asset to Nomura, by the end of the calendar year 2025. This role is in scope to transfer to Nomura as part of the sale. Therefore, this role will commence with Macquarie Asset Management in Australia, but will transfer to Nomura in Australia on completion of the sale.

What role will you play?
You will execute trades across global markets, with a strong focus in Australia and in line with investment guidelines, portfolio objectives and benchmarks, and regulatory requirements. Collaborating closely with portfolio managers you will understand investment rationale, timing, sizing, and risk parameters of trades, in addition to maintaining and enhancing relationships with sell-side brokers, evaluate broker performance and access liquidity intelligently.
Your role will include monitoring real-time market activity, news flow, and special events or corporate actions that could impact positions or execution, as well as leveraging electronic trading and algorithms to help achieve the best execution with minimal market impact. Your responsibilities will also include conducting pre- and post-trade analysis, including transaction cost analysis and market impact assessments, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
What you offer
- 5+ years of equity trading experience
- Deep understanding of equity market microstructure, trading venues, and execution algorithms
- Experience with electronic trading systems and order management systems
