About the Role
As the Executive Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the School Executive and Guidance Officers Team at the Brisbane School of Distance Education, which delivers lessons in an online learning environment. This position provides high-level administrative and organisational support, with a direct reporting line to the Deputy Principal (ISS) and a team of six Guidance Officers. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic setting. While not mandatory, knowledge of OneSchool functionality is highly desirable, and a sound understanding of Education Queensland policies and Department of Education standards is essential. This is a temporary part-time role, working 43.5 hours per fortnight (0.60 FTE) for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.
Your Responsibilities
As the Executive Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Work independently to manage daily tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Interpret and accurately apply relevant policies and procedures in all aspects of the role.
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while taking direction from multiple Guidance Officers.
This role commence work at 8:00 a.m. each day to support the operational needs of the team.
