About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Family Support Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will lead and grow family support initiatives across Southwest and Southeast Queensland, working alongside families, carers, and key stakeholders to provide practical support, advocacy, and capacity-building.
As a Family Support Coordinator, you will:
- Develop and implement family support and placement support strategies.
- Provide guidance and supervision to staff delivering family support services.
- Engage with families to identify their strengths, needs, and goals, ensuring culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.
- Build strong community and sector partnerships to enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to service development, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Liaise with the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety, professionally representing our organisation to develop strong partnerships and drive the growth of referrals.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in family support, child protection, or related services.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to motivate and support teams.
- High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of cultural competency and commitment to working alongside First Nations families and communities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and frameworks.
