Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Statutory and Regulatory Reporting team based in Perth for a 12-month maternity leave cover. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely corporate reporting, statutory compliance, and audit readiness for SGS Australia. You will be part of a high-performing finance function working collaboratively across business lines and shared service teams.
Key Responsibilities included, however not limited to:
Corporate & Statutory/External Reporting
Support timely and accurate month-end reporting using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for submission to SGS Global.
Assist in fulfilling all other corporate reporting requirements, including tax, treasury, sustainability, and goodwill impairment.
Lead the preparation of General Purpose Financial Statements in line with accounting standards and statutory obligations.
Monitor and manage changes in accounting standards to ensure compliance in reporting.
Contribute to maintaining business insurance and supporting internal/external reporting requirements.
Prepare and distribute monthly internal trend reports, including FTE reports.
Ensure intercompany transactions are valid and balanced for reporting.
Support tax reporting by compiling financial data as requested by the Tax Manager.
Process Ownership & Financial Operations
Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of financial processes and procedures.
Support daily, weekly, and monthly treasury activities.
Collaborate with business lines and shared services to enhance accounting processes.
Monitor and support internal controls and compliance documentation.
Manage correct allocation of corporate and branch overheads, and assist with budget preparation.
Audit Management
Prepare audit documentation and support both internal and external audit processes.
Ensure timely and complete audit file preparation across financial control and statutory audits.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field.
CA or CPA qualified.
Proven experience in statutory financial reporting and compliance.
Solid experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes.
Proficiency in general accounting and finance operations.
Familiarity with HFM and large enterprise finance systems is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
