About the opportunity
As Financial Crime Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Australia Post meets its obligation in relation to the AML/CTF act in mitigating and managing Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing risks. This is a risk-focused operational role responsible for identifying, preventing, and managing scam and fraud activities across the Australia Post network and its range of products.
This is a 9-month fixed term opportunity.
What you’ll deliver with us
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Crime Operations, you will support and control financial crime risk by actioning alerts in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring investigations are performed to a high-level outcome that meet regulatory, compliance and contractual obligations.
You’ll also
- Investigate alerts generated by internal detections systems as well as those raised by Law enforcement agencies or from other internal sources.
- Undertake analysis of customer and transactional data and recommend appropriate actions in line with policy/compliance obligations for enhanced customer monitoring and suspicious matter reporting.
- Provide education of the frontline retail staff in relation to fraud trends and scams.
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders at financial institutions to assist with further investigation of Unusual Activity Reports and cases as well as understanding reporting requirements and any key trends.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Financial Crime Analyst with strong analytical thinking and capability balanced with the ability to navigate diverse situations and be flexible. Joining a high performing and supportive team, you will operate collaboratively and build strong relationships with various stakeholders including frontline and support teams.
You’ll also need
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Financial Crime related role.
- Experience in investigation of complex case management.
- Experience in triaging alerts generated by internal detections systems, raised by Law enforcement agencies or from other internal sources.
- Understanding of AML act & regulatory obligations associated with designated services.
- Awareness of current financial crime trends.
