- Support and coordinate effective stakeholder engagement, including fishery working groups, to support the management of fisheries through changes to legislation, policies and guidelines. This will include drawing on your ability to understand and translate science, technical information and fishery assessments.
- Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of strategies to ensure the effective management of fisheries resources in accordance with the Fisheries Act 1994, harvest strategies, relevant policies and Government priorities.
- Support policy and legislation work and contribute to the development and implementation of legislative and other regulatory and non-regulatory options associated with the government's legislative and policy agenda.
- Prepare high quality correspondence, project plans, reports, briefing notes, and other associated written documentation for different audiences across a range of fishery-related issues.
- Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships and consult with stakeholders, peers, staff, clients, researchers and government agencies to develop advice, recommendations and options for the management of Queensland's fisheries resources.
- Represent Fisheries Queensland at fishery working groups, meetings with stakeholders, conferences and workshops.
- Contribute to the team, by fostering of a professional environment which encourages commitment, ethical behaviour, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
