The Floor Supervisor ensures the smooth daily operation of the café/restaurant, leading the team on shift, maintaining service standards, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. They act as the first point of contact for staff and assist the Manager/Owner in coordinating staff, resolving issues, and overseeing floor service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff during service.
- Lead pre-shift briefings to set standards, menu updates, and service goals.
- Monitor customer experience, respond to complaints, and resolve issues quickly.
- Manage table allocations, waitlists, and seating for maximum efficiency.
- Train and mentor new staff, ensuring service consistency.
- Oversee cash handling and POS transactions (if applicable).
- Ensure opening/closing procedures are completed to standard.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant service area (including WHS and food safety).
- Communicate with kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow.
- Step into a hands-on service role (taking orders, running food/drinks, etc.) when required.

- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
- Organised, calm under pressure, with attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of café/restaurant operations.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.
