We are conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, right opposite Southern Cross Station. Along with 190 guest rooms, we offer our guests and visitors a fully equipped conference centre with multiple function spaces, restaurant and lounge bar.

This is a full-time hands-on role which offers great scope and autonomy for the right candidate and an environment where you can grow your management skills. This role may be the perfect opportunity for an experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager ready to progress.


Job Description


Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for running the hotel’s Food & Beverage operation, including restaurant, bar, in-room dining and events. This hands-on leadership role is both operational and strategic, requiring someone who can balance service delivery with administrative responsibilities and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hands-on operation of our F&B outlets, connecting with guests, and supporting your team to provide an exceptional level of service
  • Coordination between the F&B team and other departments to ensure clear communication and effective problem solving to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Ensuring the smooth running of conferences and events
  • Rostering, cost control, inventory management and preparing reports for senior management
  • Recruitment, training and career development of the F&B team, consisting of F&B Attendants, Team Leaders and a full-time Supervisor

If you come from a background in restaurants or hotels, have a passion for creating memorable guest experiences and have experience in banqueting and/or bar operations, together with demonstrated leadership skills, we would love to hear from you.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Availability to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handler qualifications
  • Knowledge of H+L point of sale system would be an advantage
  • Previous study in hospitality or tourism would be desirable but not essential. This position will provide a development platform to expand your knowledge and grow your skills in the hotel industry.
  • As this is a full-time position, you must have full working rights in Australia. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
