The Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.

The Opportunity:
The Coordinator, Sustainability role offers the opportunity to play an active part in the Southern Program Alliance Sustainability targeted outcomes. Reporting into the Program Manager, Health Safety, Environment & Sustainability. The successful candidate will support the management of sustainability performance across multiple packages of works while also contributing to Sustainability communications within the Project Team and to stakeholders.
This role will see your work across multiple packages in the South Eastern suburbs, Western Suburbs and Northern Suburbs.
Key accountabilities:
- Implement project sustainability objectives and targets in line with legislative and contractual requirements
- Provide specialist sustainability advice to the wider Alliance team
- Contribution to project sustainability strategies and initiatives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including LXRA and rating authorities including ISCA and GBCA
- Assistance with developing Sustainability scope documentation
- Conduct required site audits to record sustainability checklist requirements
- Implementation of reporting requirements like NGERS, water, waste, materials and Whole of Life
- Drive construction and office waste resource recovery initiatives and implementation
- Collection and analysis of subcontractor and supplier sustainability performance data
- Monitor, review and assess sustainability performance on a regular basis
- Assist in preparation of ISCA Design and As Built submissions in a timely manner
- Assist in preparation of Green Star Design and As Built submissions
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated capacity of managing ISCA throughout the project lifecycle
- Demonstrated capacity of awareness of Green Star rating system
- Ability to communicate plans and activities to assist in the coordination of work
- Awareness of project traffic objectives and their importance to success, including ability to report traffic concerns/issues
- Fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages
