Your new role
- Receive and process orders for the transportation of perishable goods from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Determine the specific requirements for each shipment, such as temperature controls, packaging, and documentation.
- Arrange transportation with carriers, airlines, or shipping lines, and negotiate rates to optimize cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines concerning the transportation of perishable goods, including but not limited to temperature control requirements, safety standards, and documentation.
- Prepare and review all necessary shipping and customs documentation, such as airway bills, bills of lading, certificates, permits, and licenses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, including tracking information and delivery status.
- Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing perishable goods to ensure they meet the required standards.
- Conduct inspections of perishable cargo, packaging, and temperature control equipment to identify any potential issues or deviations.
- Identify areas for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to optimize the perishable logistics operation
- Other tasks and responsibilities which may be assigned as and when required by your supervisor/manager
- 1 Year experience in a similar role
- Dangerous Goods Certification
- Up-to-date knowledge of processing EDNs
- To raise RFPs through approved software
- Respond to inbound and outbound customer contact.
- Follow security and emergency procedures.
- Organize personal work priorities and development.
- Deliver a service to customers.
- Use product knowledge to complete work operations.
- Support innovation and change.
- Organize the international transfer of freight.
- Be aware of, and apply all statutory requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective workplace relations.
- Follow and maintain operational and quality procedures.
