About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cargo Screening Supervisor to lead our team at aviation facilities in Adelaide.
As a Cargo Screening Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing security operations, ensuring compliance with aviation security protocols, and fostering a high-performance team environment. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to upholding safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of Cargo Screening Officers, providing guidance and support.
- Oversee security screenings of freight consignments, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational procedures.
- Monitor performance and ensure team members adhere to safety, security, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits, reporting, and incident management to maintain high-security standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring ongoing professional growth and competency.
- Manage rostering, workflow, and resource allocation to meet operational needs.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for security incidents and operational challenges.
Skills, Experience & Requirements:
- Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (Air Cargo Examination Officer) or the ability to obtain.
- SA Security Licence.
- AUS or relevant port Aviation Security Identification Card (or ability to obtain).
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a security, aviation, or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of aviation security regulations and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team.
- Ability to make quick, effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong computer literacy for reporting, rostering, and operational management.
- Ability to successfully pass Drug & Alcohol testing.
