The Opportunity

At Shine, we champion better justice for our clients, and as our Front Office Manager based on reception, that starts with you. Working from our Brisbane CBD head office, which spans across four levels, you'll provide proactive and professional support to our clients, our legal, and business services teams.

You’ll lead a small and mighty team of three, encompassing our reception, business support and mailroom functions, creating a seamless front-of-house experience for not only our Brisbane office, but the wider firm nationally.

And with your professional and welcoming nature, you’ll set the tone of the office by being the first person our clients and visitors meet with, making a meaningful, long-lasting impact every day - for the people we support, our legal teams and the entire firm.

With empathy, adaptability and initiative, you’ll be a true champion of our clients by:
  • Overseeing all front-of-house operations and be the trusted leader for the wider business support team.
  • Cultivating strong relationships and trust through empathy and understanding, by interpreting client and visitor needs and connecting them with the right legal team members, whilst based on reception.
  • Keeping a keen eye across the overall presentation of our client facing facilities, ensuring cleanliness, and keeping refreshments and supplies stocked at all times.
  • Ensuring consistency in reception processes across Shine’s network of offices, and assisting in onboarding and training of all new receptionists.
  • Coordinating maintenance requests as needed, and assisting the corporate services team in organising building access for visitors and new employees.
What you’ll bring
  • Extensive experience in a corporate receptionist role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Previous experience leading a small team to success would be great, however those with a natural flair for leadership looking to take that next step are encouraged to apply.
  • You'll be a great communicator both verbally and in writing and will be naturally empathetic and have a resolute passion for helping people.
  • You’ll recognise and value the importance of your role in being the gateway to support our clients, along with the wider organisation.
  • The ability to work full time, 38 hours per week between Monday to Friday.
Shine Lawyers: A place for you. It means more here.

At Shine, purpose really matters.
  • It’s our clients, who summon the courage to stand up to injustice.
  • It’s the communities we are part of and support every day.
  • It’s our team, who champion what’s right and make this place what it is.
We’re an ASX-listed organisation, and we've been standing up for the rights of everyday Australians for more than 45 years. We’ve achieved a lot but you’ll find no airs and graces here. We’re humble yet relentless. We don’t pretend to be anything other than ourselves.

And together, we’ve created a place for you to thrive.

Here are some of the things we hope you’ll love about working with us:
  • Connect and be you: Get the benefits you need, and work with truly authentic people. And you can enjoy the security of a large, well-established firm that treats you as a person, not a number.
  • Challenge and be challenged: We’re not here for “easy”. We want you to take your place at Shine and make a real impact. Question and challenge - that’s how we grow.
  • Achieve and grow: Start your Shine journey with our in-house learning programs, where you’ll find immediate connection and be set up for success. You will be provided real opportunities to step up and grow - within your role and beyond.

We are committed to making Shine Lawyers a place for you by encouraging and supporting our people to bring their authentic selves to the workplace, and as a result, we know you’ll put your best self forward while righting wrong for our clients. We’re passionate about maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment here at Shine that celebrates all of our differences with age, disability, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, to name a few, and we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates. You bring you.
