Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and flexible Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to work independently and think on their feet. This role involves working various hours based on the needs of our participants, so flexibility is essential. Candidate must be able to cook and clean along side the participants, and use initiative!
Requirements:
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions.
Flexible and adaptable to varying hours and participant needs.
Fast learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Prior experience in disability support or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with personal hygiene including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
Assist with cleaning, laundry, and other household chores.
Observe and report any changes in physical or mental health.
Provide first aid and respond to medical emergencies if they arise.
Assist with participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
Support individuals in exercising their rights and accessing services and resources.
Help individuals develop life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, or using public transportation.
Motivate and encourage individuals to achieve their personal goals and maintain independence.
Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily activities and any incidents.
Document and report any concerns or changes in the individual's condition to appropriate parties.
Adhere to relevant legislation and policies, such as those related to disability services and personal privacy.
Communicate effectively with individuals to understand their needs and preferences.
Engage in ongoing training and development to stay updated on best practices and new technologies in disability support.
