About the Role
We believe that learning to swim and water safety is a vital life skill. Our motto is I SWIM SO I CAN... The focus of this role is to help build the self-esteem of children, enhance their confidence and provide professional swimming and water safety instruction in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. We want swimming lessons to be the best part of a child's day!
Key Responsibilities
Deliver accredited GELSwim programs in line with organisational standards and teaching frameworks.
Implement GEL policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure and inclusive environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Provide supervision, guidance and leadership to GELSwim students during lessons, promoting a positive and engaging learning experience.
Communicate effectively with parents, offering constructive feedback on student progress and development.
Assess students’ abilities to ensure appropriate class placement within the Learn to Swim program.
Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with students, families, and the wider community.

If successful in this role you will be appointed as both a:
- GELSwim Instructor - teaching learn to swim lessons run Monday to Friday in the mornings and after school as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.
- Aquatic Programs Swim Instructor - teaching School intensive programs which run Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3:00pm during school terms.
Qualifications
- Current Austswim Certificate of Swimming and Water Safety OR Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) OR LSV Swimming and Water Safety
- CPR Qualification [HLTAID009]
- Employee Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain prior to employment)
- National Police Check
- Pre-employment medical
