The Farm Hand – Honey Refinement is responsible for supporting all aspects of honey production including equipment operation, honey extraction, packaging, and dispatch. This physically demanding role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and flexibility to adapt to changing farm needs due to weather, stock, or seasonal demand.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate honey plant equipment safely and efficiently
- Extract, decant, and pour honey according to production schedules
- Package and label honey jars while meeting food safety and quality control standards
- Assemble, maintain, and clean bee boxes and production tools
- Transport and store 44-gallon drums of honey using appropriate trolleys
- Report low honey stock levels and assist in inventory management
- Assist with repairs, maintenance, and modifications to infrastructure
- Handle dispatch, stock receiving, and fulfilment duties
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and batch tracking protocols
General Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of production and packaging areas
- Assist customers and promote a welcoming farm experience
- Support in shelf stocking, stock rotation, and tasting station upkeep
- Operate machinery including forklifts, cranes, or tractors (where trained)
- Apply labels and manage repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently
- Follow all safety procedures and use PPE as required (steel-capped boots mandatory)
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 30kg and stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Perform frequent bending, lifting, and pulling tasks
- Manually handle honey trays (approx. 20kg) and full barrels
- Comfortable working near bees and must not have bee allergies

Pay: From $31.61 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 – 30 per week
