About this role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of both Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals, overseeing a combined service of circa 534 beds, with a further 60 beds to be added through redevelopment. You will lead a workforce of approximately 3,000 staff, manage a budget in excess of $400 million, and play a pivotal role in the transition of services to an A1 hospital model and $120M redevelopment.
You will report to the Executive Director of Operations, WSLHD, and work closely with a committed site and LHD Executive Leadership Team, including the Directors of Nursing, Medical Services, HR, and Allied Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive operational performance and service delivery across both hospital campuses.
- Lead the implementation of major capital redevelopment projects and service transformation.
- Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians, community leaders, and government partners.
- Champion equity, access, and culturally responsive care in one of NSW’s most diverse regions.

About you
You are a seasoned health executive with:
- Proven experience leading complex hospital operations or health services.
- A track record of delivering large-scale transformation and service improvement.
- Strong financial and workforce management capabilities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
- A collaborative, values-driven leadership style and a passion for public health.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience is an Essential Requirement
