About the role
Reporting to the TQ CEO, the General Manager, Tennis is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth and sustainability of community tennis across Queensland. With a strong focus on clubs, participation, and community engagement, this role leads the strategic development and delivery of initiatives that support and strengthen the tennis ecosystem at a grassroots level.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Communities Strategy - lead the development and execution of TQ’s Communities strategy, with a strong focus on growing participation, supporting clubs, and ensuring a vibrant and sustainable tennis ecosystem across Queensland.
- Club Growth - deliver club growth through targeted support including financial sustainability, participation, revenue, and customer experience.
- Club Support - oversee the delivery of club servicing programs that provide practical tools, resources and support to affiliated clubs across Queensland.
- Queensland Tennis Centre (QTC) - Provide strategic oversight of QTC’s tennis business, ensuring alignment with Tennis Queensland’s communities strategy and its position as the state’s flagship tennis venue.
- Leadership – Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team built on trust, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of long-term strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing community sport, particularly club operations and sustainability.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to work cross-functionally and bring internal teams together.
- Skilled in managing budgets, resources and infrastructure, with a commercially minded focus.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis QLD
