The opportunity
We are in the market for an experienced Grader Operator you are passionate about your profession and enjoy the rewards of a good challenge.
As a Grader Operator, you will play a vital role in our City Works Construction team. This position calls for a highly skilled operator with proven experience in civil construction. You will rely on your experience in grading and final trim in road construction projects. You will be highly motivated in the safe operation of road construction equipment and will also be required to undertake a range of other general labouring duties. A strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail as well as a positive and professional attitude with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously is a must.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Grader Operator’s Accreditation certificate
- Current unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) class national driver’s license
- Current Construction White Card
- Practical experience with the operation of grader to advanced level (final trim) and leading grader crew and fleet
- Experience in road, drainage and shared path construction
- Practical experience with the operation of road construction equipment
- Experience supervising Grader crew, contractors and conducting practical staff training
- Demonstrated ability to work to levels
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- To be a Team player
