About the role
We’re on the lookout for casual Graphic Design and Brand Advisors to bring energy, creativity, and a sharp eye for detail to our high-performing Public Affairs team. In this dynamic role, you’ll play a part in delivering impactful visual communications that support the Council’s engagement and storytelling goals.
As a creative professional, you’ll be tasked with producing high-quality design solutions strictly aligned with our existing Style and Identity Guidelines — ensuring every piece you create reflects the integrity and consistency of the Council’s visual identity.
You’ll work across a wide variety of collaterals including:
- Print and digital publications, flyers, posters, and event materials
- Fact sheets, newsletters, signage and corporate templates
- Long form strategic documents
- Website visuals and public presentations
- Glen Eira News layout and production
- Social media graphics and digital assets
You’ll also:
- Support art direction, photography, and quality control in production
- Provide expert design advice to both internal teams and external contractors
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly
- Ensure all materials remain on-brand and visually aligned across platforms
- Ensure design projects meet tight deadlines and are completed to high standards
Please note: This is a casual employment opportunity and work will be available on an ‘as required' basis to help cover peak periods, absences and other short-term requirements. There is no guarantee of ongoing work.
About you
You’re a skilled graphic designer who knows how to take a creative brief and run with it — within the boundaries of a clearly defined brand. You love crafting thoughtful, on-brand visuals that connect with audiences, and you bring a mix of creativity, adaptability and professionalism to everything you do.
You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into anything from event posters to multi-page layouts— and you understand the importance of consistency in government and corporate communications.
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design (or similar) and/or extensive relevant experience
- A solid portfolio showing versatility and a strong command of design principles
- Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite on a Windows system
- Proven experience working within brand guidelines while still producing standout work
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- The ability to provide strategic design advice across a range of teams

- Evidence of right to work in Australia.
