Role
Maintenance of the school buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within the school grounds
- Ensure security is maintained within a work area.
- Manage procedures relating to the maintenance of school buildings and grounds.
- Evaluate and select equipment and materials and make recommendations to senior management.
- Develop procedures relating to the use and maintenance of equipment and materials.
- Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials.

Location Profile
Mahogany Rise Primary School is a small school with 144 enrolments situated in Frankston North; a disadvantaged area on the fringe of Melbourne with longstanding socio-economic issues which have a significant impact on the education and wellbeing outcomes of its children and young people.
The Frankston North Education Plan (FNEP) aims to transform the area with long-term improved educational and community outcomes. It is a comprehensive plan for early years, primary and secondary education with a focus on improving student outcomes and ensuring readiness for transition through each stage of education be it primary, secondary, tertiary or alternative training pathways and options. Working closely together the three schools in the area will offer high quality education from birth to adulthood, act as the platform for the delivery of many health and welfare services and open their facilities for extensive community use. It is an expectation that all staff are genuinely committed to working with young people in the schools and aspire to the vision of the FNEP, that "Every child and family is successful in learning and life."
With the pillars of the FNEP forming our core purpose, Mahogany Rise Primary School strives with relentless tenacity to ensure that every student is able to achieve to the highest standard possible. We provide a clear and consistent message to all students around their learning and have implemented programs to support this learning and additional activities to broaden the horizons of all students.
We have developed a whole of school approach in Literacy, Numeracy and Student Wellbeing. These approaches mean that we have expectations on all who work in this school to be able to work within the structures and programs that are in existence. We have Literacy, Numeracy and Well-being coordinators who work across the whole school. We are very driven to achieving the best possible outcomes for all students.
The school has a wide range of support services, which have evolved and developed over the years. Speech Pathology, Psychology, Paediatric consultation, Youth worker and a school chaplain are all available on site and are an integral component for developing and providing support for staff, students and their families.
School connectedness to family is important at Mahogany Rise Primary School. We encourage our parents to be involved with our intensive reading and senior elective programs. Our strong partnerships with a range of capacity building organisations from the local area also enhance opportunities for our students. Breakfast club and lunchtime immersion programs provide opportunities for parent involvement. Many in school and after school programs are also offered by Our Place, Salvation Army and The Smith Family which further allow students to explore their possibilities.
Our school has a cook who provides a cooked lunch and snack every day for every student. We have an extensive kitchen garden program to provide us with food to consume. Our camping and excursion program ensures that every student has the opportunity to attend a variety of educational opportunities each year.
Significant building works were undertaken in 2020 and the school now offers outstanding facilities with state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces, a fully integrated on site ELC and a multi-use health and wellbeing hub servicing the school and community.
