Lifeguard / Gym Attendant – HMAS Watson

️ Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 8:30 PM | Baseline Security Clearance Required (or willing to obtain)
Join BGIS in a rewarding and active role as a Lifeguard / Gym Attendant based at HMAS Watson. You’ll be part of a supportive team delivering essential wellbeing services to the defence community in a structured and safety-first environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor gym and pool areas to ensure the safety of all users
- Perform First Aid and emergency response when needed
- Open and close the gym, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
- Support Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) with setup and equipment
- Manage bookings, check IDs, and assist with member sign-ins
- Maintain loan equipment and manage inventory
- Report maintenance issues and contribute to stocktakes
- Work independently while ensuring compliance with safety protocols
What You’ll Bring
- Current First Aid and Royal Life Saving Society Pool Lifeguard certificate (required)
- Ability to demonstrate strong swimming skills (must reach 6m pool depth within 6 months)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and a proactive attitude
- Willingness to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
- Availability for weekday shifts (overtime available on weekends at other sites)
