We're seeking a dynamic Head of Procurement to shape and deliver a best-in-class procurement function at BPC. Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, you'll lead a high-performing team, drive innovation across sourcing and contract management, and ensure full compliance with Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) policies.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide procurement strategies that deliver value for money and align with BPC's strategic goals
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with VGPB guidelines, probity and governance requirements
- Leverage data, technology and market insights to innovate and continuously improve procurement outcomes
- Mentor and uplift your team through targeted learning, stakeholder engagement and workforce planning
- Establish risk management and assurance frameworks to protect BPC's commercial interests
What we are looking for
What You'll Bring:
- Proven expertise in leading procurement and contract management in public or private sectors, delivering cost-effective outcomes over complex contracts
- Deep knowledge of VGPB policies and Victorian Government procurement legislation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial-acumen skills
- Excellent communication-confidently drafting reports, business cases and executive briefs
- Experience implementing procurement systems and data-driven performance metrics
- A collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement and change management
- A track record of building and developing high-performing teams
- Tertiary qualification in procurement, business, commerce, legal or a related field
About the BPC
The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing.
It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months.
