The Southern Program Alliance is contracted by Victorian Government to remove most dangerous and congested level crossings. This is a critical infrastructure project with significant public impact.

The Opportunity:
The Coordinator, Safety reports to the Manager, Health, Safety & Environment on the Southern Program Alliance Project and co-ordinates health and safety systems within the Project, identifies hazards and assesses risks to health and safety, recommends appropriate safety controls to the construction team and provides advice on incident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.
Key accountabilities:
- Take responsibility for Safety Performance of your assigned area
- Ensure the implementation of Safety Management Systems
- Report work health and safety hazards, incidents, and injuries
- Identify, review, and analyse high risk activities in conjunction with the appropriate personnel and recommends approach to be taken
- Actively ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are complying with legislative, client and SPA work health and safety and environmental requirements
- Assess high risk activities and, in conjunction with the appropriate personnel, recommend the approach to be taken
Required Skills and Competencies
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Minimum 12 months post qualification on a civil/rail infrastructure project
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
- Fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages
