As our new Hospitality Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the action, responsible for leading and delivering all food and beverage services across 7 vibrant retail outlets during shows, private venue hires, conferences, and gala events. From concerts and comedy nights to corporate banquets and red-carpet premieres, you’ll ensure every experience is unforgettable.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Managing stock, rosters, staff performance, and outlet readiness to ensure smooth operations and optimal customer service.
- Leading, training, and inspiring bar and service staff to deliver exceptional hospitality across all events.
- Work closely with the Front of House Manager to ensure a seamless, whole-of-venue experience for guests and hirers, discuss pre-event requirements, run sheets, production schedules and actions.
Partnering with the Theatre Services Manager and in-house chefs to execute conferences, banquets, and special events.
Creating event-appropriate menus, drinks lists, and food and beverage proposals that wow our audiences.
Liaising with the Marketing Team to roll out menu updates, digital signage, and promotions with accuracy and creativity.
Supporting the Theatre Services Manager role as required. Support will include financial and administrative tasks as well as coordination of production schedules with incoming hirers.
- Undertake post event analyses, evaluate operations and suggest innovations and changes to ensure best practice event delivery with a focus on maximising revenue and a desire to deliver on commercial goals.
What we're looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management or equivalent vocational experience (highly regarded)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing bar/concession operations
- Previous experience in multi-purpose or large-scale venue beverage operations (desirable)
- Knowledge of hospitality, including business planning, event delivery, and customer care and pricing strategy development.
- Budgetary and financial experience preferred, including budget writing, P&L control, invoice processing, analysis, and reporting.
- A deep understanding of beverage trends,from classic favourites to emerging niche products
- A proven track record of successful implementation of hospitality strategy and marketing/promotions.
- Strong post-event analysis capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent time management and ability to multi-task
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and stakeholder management abilities
- Immaculate personal presentation and strong communication skills
- Current RSA Competency Card
- Current First Aid certification
Work Schedule & Flexibility
This role operates in line with the demands of a live performance venue. As such, you will be expected to work during peak show times, which regularly include evenings, weekends, and early mornings. When the theatre is not in performance or hire mode, the role will follow standard Monday to Friday office hours. Flexibility is essential for success in this role.
