About The Role
We are seeking a House Support Worker who is passionate about empowering individuals to reclaim their lives, find safe accommodation, and build towards a brighter future. You will provide compassionate, practical support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You’ll help people stabilise their housing situations, build independent living skills, and connect them to essential services and community networks.
As part of our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) team, you'll be working within a dynamic and supportive environment where collaboration is key — alongside health services, local agencies, and other service providers. We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for helping others, and the resilience to walk alongside people during some of their most difficult times.
Reporting to the Support Services Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position contracted for 12 months, based in Geelong, VIC.
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.
You Will Successfully
- Conduct intake assessments and create individualised, strengths-based case plans
- Support clients in accessing safe housing options and making informed decisions
- Coordinate referrals and liaising with support services and external agencies
- Conduct outreach visits and offer hands-on support in residential settings
- Facilitate life skills and development activities to promote long-term independence
- Assist clients with training, employment, and community engagement pathways
- Keep accurate and timely records in line with service requirements
You Will Have
- A Social Work or relevant tertiary qualification (or significant related experience)
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours
- Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative approach
- Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and solution-focused
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- A valid Employee Working with Children's Check
