If you thrive on building partnerships, scaling impact, and aligning industry needs with employability, this is the role for you.

This is a full-time fixed-term (2-year contract period) position at a HEP8 $110,100 - $123,987 per annum plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 hours per week. This position is located at our Footscray Park campus.

You duties may include:

  • Lead a small team to deliver high-impact, coordinated support to employers, offering tailored solutions that connect students to placements, internships, and graduate opportunities.
  • Proactively grow and manage employer relationships, identifying opportunities to create meaningful pathways to employment.
  • Build strategic internal partnerships across WIL, academic, and industry engagement teams to ensure a collaborative, cohesive employer engagement approach.
  • Design and deliver creative, student-focused initiatives that align with industry needs and resonate with VU’s diverse student cohort.
  • Oversee the transition to a new integrated Employer Portal, ensuring it supports effective relationship management and offers a seamless experience for industry partners.
  • Leverage data and feedback to refine strategy, enhance services, and scale initiatives that drive measurable employment outcomes.

About You:

  • Strategic relationship management expertise with a proven ability to engage external stakeholders, uncover new opportunities, and build relationships that drive employment outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success designing and scaling industry-facing initiatives that connect students to placements, internships, and graduate roles.
  • Experienced team leader with a track record of managing results-focused teams and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong operational skills, able to leverage systems, platforms, and insights to maximise engagement and continuously improve service delivery.
