About The Role
The Injury Management Lead is responsible for managing a specialist team focused on delivering high-quality service to injured workers and their management teams. This role involves overseeing claims and injury management operations, ensuring alignment with Council goals, and driving continuous improvement within the legislative framework.
You will work closely with the Safety Team to design and implement relevant policies and procedures, while also supporting Council's Safety Roadmap and Wellness and Wellbeing Strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and supervise a dedicated team, ensuring alignment with Council's objectives.
- Encourage and implement continual improvement strategies for service delivery.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service, promoting positive experiences for claimants.
- Build and promote inclusive relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
- Establish performance measures for team accountability and risk management.
- Support professional development for team members through available programs.
- Ensure compliance with Council policies and relevant legislation.
- Utilise resources sustainably and prioritise workplace safety.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in injury management and claims administration. You should have proven experience in delivering successful return to work outcomes and possess the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Proven experience in IM Case Management or related fields.
- Experience with iCare and/or NSW Self-Insurance workers compensation claims.
- Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and its application.
- Excellent planning, time management, and organisational skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in local government and familiarity with Figtree Systems software is desirable.

- Package: From $107,476 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week. You will have the option of a 19-day month through Council’s flex system.
