The Medical Workforce Unit is responsible for the recruitment, appointment, payroll and management of the junior medical staff (senior registrars to interns) within ISLHD. The MWU is committed to delivering high quality, client-focused and professional services that support the organisation in the delivery of its core function, which is the provision of high quality, safe and efficient health services that are responsive to the needs of patients, carers and the community. The position is responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused workforce service to the relevant site or service with a particular emphasis on on-boarding, payroll, agency management and personnel administration (including records management) for locum medical officers in ISLHD.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
