At Only About Children (OAC), we're more than an early learning provider - we're shaping the future of every child in our care through innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence. Technology plays a critical role in this, ensuring our campuses and teams are connected, supported, and empowered.
We're seeking an IT Field Support Technician to join our Technology Operations team in a newly created hands-on role. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong service desk experience who is ready to step into a field-based position, working closely with our campuses across Victoria.
About the Role
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you'll provide both on-site and remote Level 1-2 support to staff across our campuses. You'll be responsible for maintaining hardware, software, and network systems, while ensuring a high level of customer service to end users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing on-site and remote technical support across all VIC campuses and the Southbank Support Office.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining end-user devices, networks, and peripherals.
- Proactively scheduling and conducting site visits to ensure smooth operations and identify improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, escalating as required.
- Supporting the transition from managed services to in-house IT operations.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, checklists, and inventory records.
- Building strong relationships with Campus Directors and end-users to understand and address technology needs.
About You
You're someone who thrives in a customer-focused IT role and enjoys being hands-on with technology. You take pride in solving problems, building trust with users, and being the go-to support for a variety of IT issues.
We're looking for:
- Essential:
- Minimum 1 years' experience in an IT Service Desk or Support role.
- Strong skills in Windows end-user support, Microsoft 365, and iPad support.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel across VIC campuses.
- Valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Desirable:
- Experience with Cisco Meraki, Intune, or Azure/Entra.
- Technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, ITIL Foundation).
- Experience in multi-site or field support environments.
You'll be successful if you:
- Have a genuine customer service mindset and enjoy working with non-technical users.
- Are self-sufficient, proactive, and organised in planning your weekly site visits.
- Take pride in being part of a collaborative team but thrive in an autonomous role.
- Want to grow your career in IT field support, not just use the role as a stepping stone.
