About the role
We are currently recruiting a Land and Route Specialist to join our Land and Routes team. This role can be based anywhere within the Essential Energy footprint in NSW.
The Land and Route Specialist is responsible for the effective management of land and route acquisition projects and the delivery of stakeholder/landowner consultation requirements to secure land for distribution and sub transmission line easements, substations and other network assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete, implement and manage the delivery of land for distribution and sub transmission line easements, substations and other network asset projects, including budgeting, forecasting, milestones, landowner negotiations, and contractor management
Responsible for the coordination of work pack owners such as the Network Environmental team and the Conveyancing team etc, to deliver work packs on schedule and within budget
Identify, establish and foster key stakeholder and customer relations in the delivery of land, easement and other Network projects
Take responsibility for the identification and implementation of easement compensation and negotiations in accordance with the organisation’s delegations, policies and procedures, and in accordance with the relevant acts and legislation
Communicating acquisition processes under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act to landowners and other clients. Negotiating with landowners and their representatives in a positive, open and transparent manner.
Be the key point of contact for stakeholder and customer distribution/transmission line route relations and take ownership of problem escalation and dispute management
- Facilitate and oversee the engagement of contractors such as surveyors, valuers, land and property services firms to assist with land acquisition services. Investigate network encroachments created by external parties as per existing policies, processes and relevant Act’s
About You
Demonstrated experience in a similar property related role in the public or private sector.
Sound experience in project managing property and land acquisitions and the application of business, industry and regulatory requirements required for utilities infrastructure.
Knowledge of the Industry, regulatory and statutory requirements needed for easement requirements
Preparing reports with written recommendations from analysing data and audit outcomes
Strong focus on community and stakeholder engagement with a good understanding of social licence issues in the energy sector.
Required Qualifications/Skills
Diploma of Project Management or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
Drivers licence
White Card – WorkCover, Induction for Construction Work - General Course
Project management and project budget skills including setting milestones and phasing project expenditure through the utilisation of project management software
Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues
Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills including the ability to coordinate community consultation, government consultation and internal consultation
Sound skills in computer operations and business systems relevant to the role including Primavera, Consultation Manager, Google Maps, GIS, GPS and Smallworld.
