Are you passionate about swimming and teaching? Do you want to make a difference in the community by helping others learn a vital life skill? Lismore City Council is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Learn to Swim Instructors to join our team at the Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre (GSAC).
About this Position:
Join us in in delivering swimming lessons to groups, schools, and individuals as part of the Swimsations Learn to Swim program at Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre (GSAC). We provide excellent service to our patrons and take pride in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
As a Learn to Swim Instructor, you will ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants while providing high-quality instruction. You will work closely with the Aquatics Coordinator and Deck Supervisor to maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction and teaching excellence.
We’re excited to offer two permanent part-time contract opportunities: one for 9 hours per week and another for 15 hours per week. There is also potential for additional hours as new opportunities arise.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the Swimsations Learn to Swim program.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
- Maintain positive relationships with students and their families.
- Assist with holiday intensive programs and student assessments.
What you will need to be successful:
- Have a genuine customer service focus and safety.
- Personal integrity and able to take responsibility.
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification (training can be provided).
- Current CPR Certificate (training can be provided).
- NSW Working with Children Check.

Conditions of Employment:
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Lismore City Council, Goonellabah Sports and Aquatics Centre and Lismore Memorial Baths Enterprise Agreement 2015 (EA) and relevant Council policies and procedures.
Pre-employment Screening: Prior to employment, there will be a series of pre-employment checks that may include, health assessments, validation of right to work in Australia, validation of qualifications and licences, criminal history checks, psychometric assessments and referee checks.
