About the role and team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Leasing Paralegal to join our well-regarded Property & Projects team based in our Sydney office.
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal who is passionate about leasing and its importance to the property industry and is eager to work in a collaborative team environment that offers the opportunity to work on an interesting and varied range of property and leasing matters using cutting-edge technology.
The practice provides property management services to REITs, major infrastructure owners, private clients, and super funds, as well as NSW and local government bodies in relation to a range of retail and commercial property developments in the Sydney CBD and elsewhere.
You will have carriage of your own files under the supervision of a senior lawyer and partner, and you will be responsible for managing a high volume of leasing matters from instruction to completion, including:
- drafting, negotiating, and finalising all types of lease documents;
- drafting client correspondence;
- maintaining and updating client precedents;
- liaising with clients and tenants or their representatives, as well as internal team members and stakeholders;
- managing the lease renewal process;
- advising in relation to matters ancillary to leases, including the requirements of the Retail Leases Act 1994;
- understanding requirements for lodgement of documents in PEXA; and
- recording time in Aderant.
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- a minimum of 3 years of leasing experience in a busy, high volume role;
- outstanding communication skills;
- the ability to manage a high number of matters simultaneously;
- an innovative mind set with a focus on continuously improving the delivery of service to our clients;
- excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work;
- experience working with PEXA; and
- experience working with Sharedo (desirable but not required).
